PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT & NURSE PRACTITIONER

​

  • Has management responsibilities for direct report(s).

  • Provides episodic, preventive, and acute health care to patients.

  • Conducts histories and physical examinations, prescribing medications and/or medical treatments based on best practice standards.

  • Develops treatment plans in collaboration with patients; educates and advises on medical issues as needed.

  • Provides referrals both internally and externally to appropriate medical resources or specialties.

  • Evaluates the effectiveness of medical care and monitors the progress of patients.

  • Identifies emergency situations and provides care within legal scope of practice and as defined by the privileging process.

  • Participates in the development of annual health center goals and objectives.

  • Provides overall responsibility for the care of patients seen in the health care clinic in the absence of the Medical Leader.

  • May require other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited medical school or nursing program.

  • Licensed to practice as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner in the state of New York.

  • Must have current state and federal DEA certification.

  • Current Certification in AHA or ARC Basic Life Support for health care providers is required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support may also be required based on contract scope of services.

  • Knowledge and experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) preferred.

  • Knowledge of workplace health and safety concepts and OSHA regulations preferred.

MEDICAL ASSISTANT

​

  • Performs clinical tasks such as taking medical histories and measuring vital signs.

  • Assists with diagnostic tests and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.

  • Maintains accurate patient records and updates Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems.

  • Educates patients on health management techniques.

  • Ensures the cleanliness and organization of medical equipment and examination rooms.

  • Prepares and stocks medical supplies and instruments, assisting in inventory management.

  • Identifies and addresses patient concerns, escalating issues to healthcare providers as needed.

  • Obtains and records insurance information and demographic details from patients.

  • Coordinates with administrative staff to ensure quality patient care.

  • May require other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalency.

  • Medical experience preferred.

  • Must have reliable transportation (traveling required).

  • Spanish speaking is a plus

  • Familiarity with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems is preferred.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

MEDICAL RECEPTIONIST

  • Greets patients and visitors warmly, providing a welcoming environment.

  • Manages appointment scheduling, cancellations, and rescheduling to optimize provider schedules.

  • Collects and verifies patient information, including insurance details and medical records.

  • Processes patient admissions and discharges efficiently.

  • Handles patient inquiries and provides information about services, policies, and procedures.

  • Maintains accurate records of patient interactions and transactions in the EMR system.

  • Coordinates with healthcare providers and administrative staff to ensure smooth clinic operations and quality patient care.

  • Manages phone calls, messages, and correspondence in a timely manner.

  • May require other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiarity with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems.

  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Spanish speaking is a plus.

  • Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance procedures is beneficial.
